I was reading this blog post today, and I really identified with it. At this point in my life, there is no way I am able to finish all the housework that "needs" to be done. I have 3 small children, and even the oldest still needs me to do a lot of things for her. The younger 2 need almost everything done for them. We have a lot of church activities to go to (which we LOVE) but they take up time. Bible Quizzing is very important to me, and that takes time. I have several closets right now that need to be reorganized, toys need to be gone through and discarded, the house needs a good "spring cleaning," and I need to catch up the kids scrapbooks.
But I can't let myself get overwhelmed. One thing at a time. I try to stay on top of the daily stuff (meals, clothes washed and ironed, kitchen and bathrooms cleaned), and just take the other tasks one at a time as I can manage them. Right now, I'm in the process of organizing and ir
oning the kids spring/summer clothes. Yes, it's a little bit ahead of time, but that way I'll have it done by the time it warms up. Planning ahead, organizing my time, getting the important stuff done, and not stressing about the things I don't have time for is the way I get through my days. Before I know it, my kids will be all grown up and I'll be wishing I had to get onto them for not cleaning up their rooms. Life is such a blessing, and it goes by so quickly, don't waste time worrying that the baseboards need a good scrubbing. Just do your best on the important stuff.
