Homemade Cleaners

Well, I've been surfing the Dave Ramsey forums again (I think I need to go to the library, I've haven't been in about a month)! I came across all these really cool recipes for homemade cleaners. I'm a little crunchy, so I prefer to use organic or natural cleaners, and they are expensive, and often times do not work very well. So, I'm going to give some of these homemade varieties a try. They seem simple to make (I don't have a lot of free time to make cleaners), and they are very cheap, so we'll see. I have recipes for laundry detergent (both powder and liquid, the powder looks easier, so I'll try it first), color safe "bleach", shout, oven cleaner, oxyclean, stainless steel cleaner, fabreeze, windex, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, bathroom cleaner, and weed killer. I'll let y'all know if any of these recipes are "keepers!" Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!

Girl, you crack me up! You and your organis stuff, LOL! I can't believe you are really gonna try making those cleaners. The one I want to know about is the weed killer!

Okay Christina, I've haven't tried this yet but here it is.

Weed Killer:
Sprinkle baking soda on the weeds
Let the baking soda sit for 30 min
Pour white vinegar over the weeds
Rinse area with water the next day

I don't know if this will kill your grass or flowers also, the post didn't say. The lady who posted the recipe used it inbetween the cracks in her sidewalk.
