Today, I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and children. Billy got me another beautiful Willow Tree angel, "Mother and Daugher." I just love these figurines.
Abigail planted me a flower and painted a beautiful picture of me at school. When she got in the car on Friday, she asked, Mommy, what color are your eyes again? When I said "green," she said, "Oh no! I couldn't remember, so I colored them blue." Which is just fine because I always wanted blue eyes:)
In Sunday School, Abigail made me a beautiful place mat. It has a wonderful picture she drew, and she said this:
"I love my mommy a million bazillion a trillion, because she gives the bestest hugs.
We plant flowers
We have family nights together.
We play games. We have cheese-broccoli and tea.
She makes dirt pudding for me with cookies in it.
She takes me to princess shows. "
Of course, that was just heart melting! Annabelle was her cute little self, and Andrew made me an adorable tea pot picture in Sunday School:
And finally, a cute story. So yesterday, I was running errands, when I remembered that I hadn't yet bought myself a Mother's Day Corsage. Now I LOVE fresh flowers, I would have several vases in my house filled with them at all times if I had endless stacks of money. So my Mother's Day Corsage is a little treat I like to get myself every year. So I ran by Albertson's (not the prettiest corsages in the world, but they are fine and very inexpensive). But the only color they had left was yellow, and my outfit was light pink, hot pink, white, and brown...that so would have not looked good. So I decided to try United. I really didn't feel like dragging three kids across town (we had already been at the mall for several hours), so when the flower shop across the street from Albertson's crossed my eye, I thought it's worth a quick look. Maybe they had premade corsages. I went in, and asked the lady if it was too late to order a corsage. She asked if I could pick it up tomorrow. I thought about trying to get myself and three kids dressed and at the church by 9:30 (Billy had to work today), and I told her I really couldn't pick it up on Sunday morning. She looked at me and said, "I'll take pity on you. I'll run back and make one for you really quick. What color do you want? I have the most beautiful hot pink carnations."
Perfect! Yes, and she even tied a brown ribbon on the bottom! And it was reasonably priced! I was very excited. So after she finished (it only took about 5 minutes), she asked me if I wanted to purchase a Mother's Day card. She thought I was buying the crosage for my mother and not myself! Oh well! I did get my mother a Mother's Day present by the way, a Ladies of Life Cookbook! I know she will love it:) Happy Mother's day everyone!
