Well, on Saturday, we had a nice windy day, and we saw our neighbors flying a kite (and I actually had one in the closet), so we got it out a decided to help the kids fly their first kite. The only problem was that neither Billy nor I had flown a kite in about five years! The last time we flew kites was when we were just married out in Mission Park with Maddy. So it had been quite a while. We never did get it very high up in the air (I blame it on the fact that we were doing it in the back yard, so we had a lack of room to run...but to be honest I'm not sure we could have gotten in up in a huge field either)! But the kids had a blast! Andrew was so excited, and Abigail had fun "flying" the kite. She kept telling me to just throw it up in the air like the Dad did (she got this from Mary Poppins, I think it's the only experience with kites she's ever had LOL)!

Oh, what fun! I loved flying kites when I was a child.
