Back From the West

Well we're back from west Texas. We went to Andrews to visit my new nephew, Rory Joel Suarez. We decided to drive back last night since Billy is going to night shift this week, to help his body adjust to his new sleeping schedule. We saw at least 20 deer so it was an interesting drive. Since I have hit a deer before, we are always extra careful driving during deer season. I miss the "west", the llano estacado, the flattest place on earth (really it is). I remember the first time Billy came home with me, he was like, "So that's what a tumbleweed looks like!" Most people think it's ugly out there, but it's my home so I love it! And I'm sorry but you just don't get Mexican food like you get in New Mexico/West Texas...I'm talking salsa without cilantro with lots of heat, sopapillas stuffed with meat and beans, and green chile from Hatch, New Mexico. Yummy!
